The tourist destinations of Gargano, including Manfredonia, where the Hotel del Golfo is located, are among the favorite destinations of the Adriatic coast.  In the South, long beaches of golden sand, where the breeze is perfect for fans of surfing and sailing; in the North, the promontory of Gargano, with steep cliffs, the blinding whiteness of the houses, the deep blue sky and crystal clear waters, its creeks, accessible only by sea and its caves, true works of art of nature.  Among the peculiarities of Manfredonia there is the vast archaeological area of Siponto with its hypogea and the Early Christian cathedral of Santa Maria.  Farther west, the Basilica of San Leonardo, pilgrimage and historic milestone of the Via Sacra Longobardorum. In the old town centre the story remains alive with the Scwabian Angevin Castle and its Aragonese four towers that mark the ancient glory and greatness. Wanting permeate this beautiful land, you must spend some time around: in Mattinata with its long pebble beach adjacent to Baia delle Zagare and its famous cliffs.  In the North, Gargano National Park, famous for its biodiversity of flora and fauna and its green lung, the Umbrian Forest, where you can organize trekking and horse riding.  From the port of Vieste, about 40 km from Manfredonia, across the entire east coast with its features and breathtaking scenery, you can embark for the Tremiti Islands.  Just 30 km away from San Giovanni Rotondo, the town of San Pio, a pilgrimage destination. 18 km, Monte Sant'Angelo with the Sanctuary of St. Michael the Archangel, historic place of pilgrimage; the Crusaders already went to the Holy Cave before their crusades to the Holy Land.  Both in summer and winter in Manfredonia take place numerous events, from cultural events to religious festivals.  Festivals of local products, including the most delicious fish and Farrar, folklore performances, art, crafts and photography exhibitions.  At Christmastime, the traditional fried pettole and exhibitions of nativity scenes.
